Mr Akai Lin, Overseas Director of Yorkers Exhibition Service Vietnam, one of the organisers of the fair, commented: “The exhibits and range of activities over the show floor have perfectly reflected the strength of Vietnam’s automotive industry and its standing within ASEAN. Guided by the theme of a new era of electrification, this year’s exhibition has helped accelerate the industry by elevating local skills, introducing ground-breaking technologies, and engaging a vast, diverse audience. Ultimately, the show once again provided the region with a clear blueprint for the way forward in terms of investing directly or establishing local partnership in the market.”
Carmakers leading the way among key exhibitors
Further reinforcing the convergence of global and local industry pioneers, three of the leading carmakers, BYD Oway, GAC, and VinFast, exhibited their latest EV models at the fair, while simultaneously offering over 180 test drives for attendees at the outdoor space.
Overall, exhibitors gathered from the entire supply chain, from OEMs to the aftermarket, including key product groups such as Parts & Components, Electrics & Electronics, Accessories & Customising, Diagnostics & Repair, Connectivity & Autonomous Driving, Wheels Management & Tyre Service, and more for electric and combustion passenger, commercial vehicles, and motorcycles.
More highlighted exhibitors at the fair included Aquarama, Brembo, Camel Group, Chilwee, Daeheung, Empire Motor, Exedy, GOLD, Hankook, Launch, Mastery Auto Electric, SRR, Sumitomo Bakelite, Topdon, XGM, and Yokohama Oils & Fats.
Exhibitors and speakers showcasing the future of electrification
Electrification shone through the halls to mirror trends in the local market. For instance, Camel Group and Chilwee showcased their latest products pushing the industry forward, including AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) technology and batteries respectively.
This theme also ran throughout the fringe programme, most notably through the Collison Repair Training Workshop, drawing 382 attendees and led by 11 expert trainers which saw technologies focused on the digitalisation of the aftermarket spotlighted. ATOM, Launch, LIQUIMOLY, OBD Vietnam, OTO-HUI, QT Group, Tan Phat Etek, VAST Service, VATC, and VC Prosperous led demonstrations based around the advanced diagnostics and repair solutions of both NEVs and ICE vehicles.
The Automotive Mobility Solutions Conference expanded the topic into the entire value chain with 16 speakers and 390 attendees across two days, encompassing investment opportunities of green mobility, logistics, warehousing, and more, with insights from carmakers to legal and technology firms from Vietnam and the wider Asia region. Key highlights here saw decision-makers from Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Kuka Robotics, TotalEnergies, Vietnam Post Logistics, VinFast, and more discuss supply chain resilience, new energy vehicles, and green investment prospects for Vietnam.
International players look to Vietnam’s potential for investment and cooperation
Visitors to the show echoed this sentiment as the fair allowed them to explore the Vietnamese market and expand supply channels. In fact, buyers ranged from countries and regions, including Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Switzerland, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, UAE, the UK, the US, Vietnam and more.
Top 10 visiting overseas countries and regions included China, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia and India (by descending order).
Key decision-makers hailed from leading companies such as 3M, Bosch, HP, Hyundai, Intel, J&T express, Michelin, Supreme Ferrari, T&T Group, Toyota, VinFast, and Zeder, among others. Business matching sessions further facilitated productive discussions between buyers and suppliers.
Of the three-day show, exhibitors met with 17,927 visitors from 50 countries and regions. A closer look revealed 78 percent of visitors represented ASEAN markets, spotlighting its expansion over recent years.
AutoFEST@HCMC interacts with players as it focuses on culture and engagement
The series of interactive events provided a gateway into the automotive industry for end-users, while providing industry stakeholders with an environment to celebrate car culture and networking in a more relaxed setting. Entertainment was driven by showcases such as the Drift & Stunt Shows, and the autoFEST@HCMC Music Party. The Automotive Service Marketplace also allowed participants to have first-hand experiences in aftermarket products and services, while the EMMA Vietnam – Car Audio and Modifications Competition engaged industry newcomers. In addition, the debut of the Green Studio offered participants a highly engaging and immersive experiences.
